So I've been trying to get into this photography game since I first picked up a DSLR last year but I still have a lot to learn.

    What do you guys use?

I'll start this off I guess:
    Canon T2i
    18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Kit Lens
    50mm f/1.8 Lens
    55-250mm f/4-5.6 Lens
    B&W Circular Polarizing Filter

    On the wishlist:
    Some kind of tripod
    Maybe 35mm or 50mm f1.2 lens? - haven't researched too much yet

Anyone else have some cool camera gear and recommendations/reviews?

Dah_ hunter do you feel the black edition is worth the extra $200 over the white edition?
I see that the specs are a little higher and the low level light is good.
All the decent cams go for $400.00 + so I makes me feel like the white is missing something.
Plus if I sell it down the road, no one will want a white if the black is the shit.

I recently bought a Fujifilm HS25EXR, and also got a GoPro hero 2.
The Fuji is okay, but it makes me wish I saved up and bought a canon.

The GoPro is pretty awesome except for the sound, but you could always buy a mic and have the gopro or mic inside which gives the best sound. Also got a wifi backpack for my gopro, and link it to my iphone, so I can view what I'm gonna take a picture of, or easier start/stop for when the camera is somewhere out of reach.

I still use my Canon Rebel(D300), the first Rebel DSLR, i think it cost me almost $1400 at that time http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canon_EOS_300D. I applied a firmware hack that upgrades it features to a 10D. I have the standard 18-55mm that came with it and bought a 70-300mm lense. Still takes great pics. I would like to upgrade but I alwasy talk my self out of it. I have a couple of Canon Point and Shoots that I use. But it seems most of the time I'm using my S3 as its just more convienent and takes pretty good pics.

Just started learning this whole photography thing about a year ago. I have a brother in-law who is a professional photographer and has been super helpful in helping me to understand how to shoot in manual mode. I didn't really care about taking nice pics until I understood shooting in manual, now I really enjoy it.

    I've got:
-Canon Rebel T3i with 50mm F1.8. Bought about a year ago and so far so good.
-Canon AL-1 with 50mm F1.8 (film). Inherited from my Grandpa after he passed. I really like the pics that this thing takes and I probably use it just as often as the T3i. It just sucks not being able to see your pics right away to know if you got a good shot.
-I phone 4s for on the go stuff

Let's do this! When and where Ben? And which car will you bring :)

Now I will go see if there is a hack like this for the T2i haha...

I have a GoPro Hero 3 as well, but silver edition. Quality is very good, although I have only used it while skiing and its always been snowing, so there are water marks on the lens. The app for Android/iPhone is pretty helpful to actually know where the damn thing is pointing haha.

    I splurged and bought a Fujifilm X100-T.

    http://www.fujifilm.ca/products/digital_cameras/x/fujifilm_x100t/

It has been called "The World's Best Digital Camera." :)

    http://www.kenrockwell.com/fuji/x100t.htm

I tried the Fujifilm X-T10 for a week, but found I detested the weight of the lens.

    http://www.fujifilm.ca/products/digital_cameras/x/fujifilm_x_t10/

I tend to keep things for a long time (my Olympus was bought 15 years ago, and I still use it regularly), so I wanted to get something that would stand the test of time.

    Test pictures to follow... :)

(Of course, as we all know, once you have a beautiful camera, you need a computer to match... Come on, Apple - update those machines so that I can buy a nice refurbished one...)

I just got my SJ4000 (GoPro knockoff) in the mail yesterday. Going to be testing it out this weekend and see how it performs. For the money it should be fun at least.

I was going to be testing it out this weekend, but it seems I got a faulty micro SD card. It didn't work in any of the devices I tried it in (SJ4000, camera, computer) and I had bought right before heading to the cottage and I didn't want to drive somewhere to get another.
So unfortunately the review will have to wait until I exchange it.
Also it's black. If it works well I may just buy a second one.

I bought a new iPad mini 4 yesterday, specifically because it finally has a truly great screen. One of the cool things I have been playing with is the remote app - it is really great to be able to control some of the major functions on the camera wirelessly. It's an odd feeling to have the camera on a tripod, and tweaking shutter speeds and apertures, and then taking pictures with it on my iPad from 10 feet away! If your camera has such an app, I would recommend it - it is a lot of fun to play around with. :)

Lots of zoom, inexpensive, I manage to get a good picture once in a while (if you sift through the evo pictures).
https://www.flickr.com/gp/131346514@N08/unB51K (there are quite a few from my phone I notice, and some from my old camera [which I broke])

I have been meaning to invest in a tripod, any recommendations?
