His name is Maxim, his Altezza has "very rare HKS aero parts", both bumpers and side skirts, 18" front and 19"back rims, carbonfiber bonnet, HKS spoiler, SAR+HKS exaust, TEIN suspension, BRIDE seats, Pioneer sound deck, Turbo timer.
    Under the hood:
Yamaha head with SGE engine, compressor, all TRD hoses, upper and lower anti roll bars, new battery (laughing for no reason), HKS collector.
Altezza has 280HP. 50HP compressor. 15HP from "brains" (ECU I guess).
He is 200% glad with car...I would be too :)

No info about chick was provided :)

I would drive one. From Dereks description they sound like they are great cars. Personally I just can't drive heavy cars any more. With a bit of weight reduction these could be fun!

I've been looking at the various options on these cars, and in the process came across a kiwi car review article which explains the features nicely. The more I look at these cars the more I want one.

Also note that there was a limited special edition 280T which came with 280hp, hence the name. I would imagine finding one of these at auction would be like finding a real life unicorn. only 100 hundred were produced.

Strongly considering getting an RS200. I've already got the 'trade it up' itch, and I've only had the Pajero for 7 months.

I really like that one. I've been looking at zed s with bumper upgrade.
The ones with blue paint and gold rims looks nice too.

Is that one of yours, Ben? Or, who's importing one speculatively?
Yeah. That's pretty much what I want... rs200 or just get one LHD, eh?

Figured someone was bringing it in on spec, figured "why not Ben!".

Do we know who this guy is? He's not direct marketing to us, so he's either
    1. doing fine as is
    2. has crappy cars and we'd tear him apart
    3. doesn't know how to use the internet.

    Interesting.

if you watch Vancouver Craigslist.. you will see tons of add's like those.

since pretty much everyone here that is into cars has tried importing at one time.. or else wants to try if someone will pay them money..

don't know if insurance would be cheaper seeing how it would become a luxury car. But I guess in Ontario RHD's cost a lot to ensure...

It the fact that it can be insured by more providers because the vin is 17 digit and comes back LHD. Ontario uses facility for RHD, or secondary vehicle.
With a Lexus vin I may still pay 3600-4800/yr but RHD altezza 4800-7200 to start.
And I'm sure someone with a long term good record would pay 1200-3600/yr
