    Hi All,

I've been planing for a long time to import a 4X4 mitsubishi fG Cantor, 5.2 litre from Japan. So far, here in Ontario, I've been told through the regular channels for RHD that they won't do commercial RHD vehicles.

So far, I have no descriptioin of what it is they call commercial, so, I have to press them on this point.

The MTO website says that a commercial vehicle is any vehicle used to make money, so, it doesn't have anything to do with the size of the vehicle.

Since I only want mine for personal use, they should not be denying me insurance for an FG

Does anyone know of anyone with larger vehicles or even ones used for commercial purposes are able to get insurance for a RHD West of Ontario?

    Thanks

Try Federated Insurance, they are a direct writer so you won't find them at any brokers. They were good for writing RHD's when I worked there about 6 years ago.

    Hi IanB

Thanks for the heads up. I tried them this morning and they wouldn't even let me describe the vehicle. As soon as they heard the letters RHD, they said "Sorry, we don't underwrite RHD anymore.

I've tried several others and I"m getting the same thing. I could do Fecility for 7500/year but No.

    Thanks again.

Thanks for posting back, I'd have kept suggesting them to people otherwise. Good luck in your search!
