Post the shops that you use here, and your reviews about them.

A good place for BC OOP Inspections is:
    MF Tech
    Tel: 604.323.2655
Addy: 8808 LAUREL ST. VANCOUVER, BC V6P 3V8

I have been using this shop for years. they are good guys. Sometimes anal about little things, but its always safety related.

Location isnt convenient for me cause i leave in Langley, however to this day i still cant find an inspection shop near me thats worth going to.

We need a thread like this for every province, to be honest. I had a great setup near my old work in the west end of edmonton, but it lasted only for a season.

Kudos Ben, this is a really great thread, looking forward to seeing if we learn about more shops that are decent. We were there once with one or two of your evo's and my... stagea? I think.. I bought an air filter cone from them. Seemed a decent place when we were there.

Very good mechanics, but they don't seem to like lowered cars too much (as far as inspections go), so I wouldn't take my car to them for inspection if your car is lowered or has a lot of mods. If your car is stock, it should be ok. Inspection is $125 (I think) and it's close to Royal Oak skytrain so it's easy to pick up and drop off.

Anybody used RZ Auto Service? They are located very close to the port on Boyd Street. There location is very convenient for me but I cant find any reviews on them.

UPDATE: This guy does NOT do JDM

As stated, talk to them first ... most places think we are bringing the spawns of satan himself. After a few JDMs, a day's drive to a shop that will give you little hassle is worth more than the convenience of a shop "down the road".

    Haha

I don't like that shop to begin with.

But I'm sure they will be able to pass passenger cars again, they have had this problem before.

Probably because it's easier to pass SUV's and trucks. No one takes a second look at a modestly lifted/modified vehicle, but a slammed, riced out skyline with a huge exhaust will grab a lot of attention.

I think they purchase a certain amount of decals. Is it different for SUV's/trucks and cars? Or would they just purchase one type (eg. vehicles under 5000 kgs)

Some are...Seemed like every time I was there someone would pull up in a Skyline with a body kit and/or carbon fibre hood...."Hey, I heard you guys can pass this." He always said no, LOL!

Ok, maybe not every time, but it happened 2-3 times when I was there.

The guys that regulate the inspection facilitys are more prone to come and make sure the inspections are done *By the book* if the inspection shop is passing a lot of sports cars (Skylines really are the Trigger here)
So to make life simpler for the shop MF just doesnt bother to inspection Cars (Skylines mostly) i bet if you brought them a Honda Civic RHD they would do that just fine. But they know that Skylines are the ones that can bring the Hammer down from transport Canada.

Does anyone know a shop that won't care about JDM headlights?
