walked the dog on Friday & saw a neighbor further up the cul-de-sac begin taking down his old wood siding. Asked him what he planned on doing with it, and the next day we found ourselves with a couple of hundred lineal feet of siding that matched our place. I'll replace anything split and to far gone to paint over, mostly on the south facing side. But because there was so much I decided the shed could use some TLC. Worked out pretty good IMO, but will need to silicone the board seams and obviously paint. Hopefully in the spring of 2016.

I want to place a single row of 8x8x16 split face cinder blocks in front of the gap. The roof also needs some love as well :(

Looking pretty good so far! Some paint and it will not look too shabby at all! Yeah, roof may need a bit of work though, but a pretty good haul I think! :)

thanks. Yeah, though the blue looks pretty good actually.

Thanks G. I'm glad it's wrapping up now. Can't wait for winter and lounging on the couch, hahaha

Here's a shot of the front, which we tackled on Sunday.

some more small stuff. Changing the look near the top of the stairs. The way it was done by the previous people left a lot to be desired.

    Before:

Note the lovely 2x4 spacers. The colour of the wall underneath was bright orange :o

And after. Three coats of clear hardener, no colour added whatsoever. This was a tree three weeks ago.

Very nicely done. Adds a nice accent as well as better function.

IKEA had their black Friday sale and I jumped on the chance to finally rid myself of the crappy old student furniture we'd held on to for the last 5+ years. The install took two days, involved lots of fishing wires within a very cold attic, and left me sore and battered. But it was worth it.

few minor things left. Finding a TV mount, running Ethernet directly from the router to the unit, etc. Pretty sure when the house gets sold this will stay.

Next we frame in the new(ish) gas fireplace and clad it with stone.

No, not looking to flip. I can see why you'd think that though from what I wrote. Just saying I'll never take it down, hahaha. It's too Purdy.

spring renos are almost done. Finished repainting the house and finally raised the deck. All that's left is to place a line of blocks around the garden shed and level a pad for an AC condenser. Then summer can come. [IMG]
