Yup, that's the one. I think I have that #442 you posted up too. It seem like I remember playing with something like that when I was a kid. I wouldn't be surprised if the pieces are all mixed in with the bulk stuff I have though.

At Christmas when I'm back at my parents' house I'm going to have to go through all the Lego there and compile a list of the sets I have.

I had the 1978 truck one, it was one of my first sets. I also had the space one, I remember buying that one with my own money, down at Kmart, by my house. I had to be 7 or 8 I can't believe it's 1979 though, thought it was more mid 80's!

Edit, just checked Brickipedia, and it says it was only sold in the states. Maybe I picked it up when we visited North Dakota, or else Montanna when I was little?

build pics yet?? haha. That looks awesome! I think they were bringing this stuff out when I was getting ready to get outta lego.. pretty cool designs I'd always thought. When you scale up, you can use pieces quite differently. case in point, the mirrors.
I got on youtube for too long the other night watching these. Here's 442 that Ben posted above..

I was checking out all the "command" ship ones..

There's not a lot of it. I got it off ebay, but it's just the parts and the instructions, no box. There was the one on there with the truck, trailer and plane (5591) a couple of weeks ago for about $100....I wish I bought it. So cool.

    Second purchase....

This time I got it with the original box, instructions and the plastic bit in the box to sort out the pieces. Downside, some of the white pieces have yellowed a bit. I'll see if I can work some magic on those. I did some research before I bought and I got it dirt cheap, so even if I can't fix the discoloration I still have a complete set with box etc. :)

I need one black 1x2 brick with a hole in the center for the jeep I bought. I can only find lots of 10 on E-Bay. Don't really want to buy that many if I don't have to....

Agreed. I don't think it's going to get too much better for a while though :) Good thing I bought some stuff before when the rate was better :)
