    Does anyone know if a JZX diff will fit in a JZS147 Aristo? I'm mostly just looking to find out if the internals will swap in. I want to get a LSD for the car and looking at prices it will be much cheaper if the JZX LSD will fit.

    I've been able to find that the Soarer and Supra diffs will fit, but I haven't found any info on the JZX chassis' yet.

    Probably not: JZX100 uses 7.5" or 8.0 " rear diff while Aristo, Supra, Soarer 8.5"

    Here is Cusco LSD diff catalog: http://www.cusco.co.jp/en/pdf/L.S.D._toyota.pdf
    as you can see same LSD models come on Aristo, Supra, Soarer and different on JZX100

    I did some more research after I posted the topic and that's basically what I found as well :( Except the info that I found said the JZX cars and the Altezza are 7.5" and Supra, Soarer and Aristo are 8.0"

    There is informational plate with Model, Engine, Frame number etc under the hood.
    It has "Trans/Axle" line: first is transmission model and the second is differential model

    In my case it looks like: A340H A03A -> (A03A is diff model)

    It is decoded as:
    First digit:
    A = 7.5" ring gear
    B = 8" ring gear

    Next two digits:
    01 = 3:42
    02 = 3:58
    03 = 4:10
    04 = 4:56
    05 = 3:15
    06 = 3:91

    Last digit:
    A = 2 Pinion, Open
    B = 4 Pinion, Open
    C = 2 Pinion OEM Limited Slip

    Something doesn't seem right there because the JZS147 Aristo came with two diffs...A01A and A01B where A01B is a Torsen LSD and based in the information above it would still be an open diff and the size would only be 7.5".

    Or is that information above more specific to the JZX chassis?

    Mine is R154 B02D

    So I guess mine is 8" ring gear. D isn't listed in your list though.

    I read 8" comes on Tourers and 3.0L engines.
    Looks D - means Torsen diff.

    So theoretically, that diff would fit the Aristo if the Aristo diff is indeed 8"?

    I doubt this, I read on Russian forums, people say: Aristo 8.5", completely incompatible with JZX.

    What about buying the 8" JZX diff complete? Might not be too expensive. At least you would know everything fits.

    Just got confirmation from a guy in Australia that tried to build his diff...Aristo is 8.5". Megatol is right, Supraforums is wrong.
