We ordered through Derek at Pacific Coast. Needed a one with a dump box and from the information we could find looking at a Dahiatsu or a Suzuki with locking diff. Ended up with a Dahiatsu.
    This is the one -
Here's the first picture of it we took...;) this was a few days ago when the Tamesis was coming through the Miraflores lock in Panama.

This one hasn't even come in yet and we're already thinking of what to get next.

There's a very similar Hijet here in Lunenburg that somebody in town owns! :) Somebody else has one of the Daihatsu Atrai kei vans as well, but I saw that on the back of a flatbed yesterday being towed to the local Irving station/garage, so hoping nothing is terminally wrong with it!

Are you using it for landscaping?

I have seen a few Hijets around HRM as well, along with Suzuki, Mitsubishi and even a Honda Acty mini truck.

Its going to be used for the more 'extreme' side of landscaping. We recently purchased 55 acres of land and need to do a lot of clearing, cleanup and trail building. It will hopefully get us there and back on public roads legally along with being able to haul some stuff as we need to.
There will inevitably also be a bit of tinkering done on it. Already have a few boxes coming in with some beefier springs, shocks, helper leaf springs...which is why camber adjust bolts and fender flares are enroute as well. We have some old RX7 wheels with winter tires we plan to put on.

I'm interested in seeing anyone with a Hijet that got a dump box with PTO, ours is electric, the PTO would be interesting but isn't easy to find in the regular three way dump box.

The one I see in Lunenburg just has the regular 3-way fold-down "pickup" bed on it as far as I know. I've only seen it vaguely up close once and it didn't look like a dump model.

I've always liked the Hondas the most, but they seem to be more of a pain for maintenance as isn't the only engine access a bolted-down cover...?

There don't seem to be many dumps around. The Hondas seem to go for quite a bit more at auction in Japan. I'm not actually sure about engine access as we didn't look in to it further as from what I saw they don't have the potential for locking differentials.

Oooh, that looks really nice. Some dished BBS style wheels and it would be perfect. You'll have to make a thread when you get the car.

    When does it arrive?

Hi Nate, nice to see you here.

I have not even sent out the invitation form to you yet. Some lazy mod is taking their time getting me my next set of window stickers (joking but I still need them @Greg).

I should have your report in two days here. Unless my wife goes into labour on that day.

    Who Are you: Mike
Why are you here: Hear to learn as much as I can and share my passion for cars
What do you Drive: I currently drive a Forester s/tb as my daily and an s14 for my fun car
What do you do when your not driving: Working, mountain biking, road biking, racing bikes any chance I get
More: I owned a few cars before my current s14. It started out as a stock auto LE with just under 75,000km. At first I wanted to make small changes manual swap, z brakes, etc. A few years ago I started autoxing and managed to find time for a lapping event last year. After all the work I decided to get something more practical which is what started my search for a jdm wagon. If I had more money and space I would definitely own a few more JDM's haha.
