Line 1 mod info from subyclub / clubsubnz
    "LINE #1 MOD

*Figures given may not be accurate or performance gains guaranteed as this is 3rd party untested information.

    Outline:

Insert a 0.8mm restrictor pill into line #1 (Intercooler Air Control Valve)

    Benefits:

    - Primary boost loss throughout the entire VOD is less than 2psi*
    - Primary boost loss to full TT boost is less than one second*
    - Completely smooth and powerful transition into sequential operation*
    - Stable boost throughout entire RPM range*

    Instructions:

    - Pull hose # 1 from the top/front port of the BBOD.
    - Insert the pill into hose #1, use wire to push it up the hose at least 50mm (2 inches).
    - Refit hose 1 onto BBOD.

If you do not have a 0.8mm restrictor pill, the OEM Subaru Part Number is:

    0.8mm Pill - 22326AA260
    1.0mm Pill - 22326AA010

Alternatively, a second-hand unused stock boost control line contains an 0.8mm restrictor from the compressor outlet to tee-piece."

Make sure you put a return address on there eh....:D

Have you noticed a big difference, is it as awsome as the other line mod?

Haha yep I did, you should have it anytime now. I mailed it Wednesday.

The difference. Yes, it's really good, the changeover is much less pronounced. Much less boost loss through the range. My only complaint is it takes longer for the same valve to close, so if you drop revs it takes longer to go back to single turbo mode now. But yea it's awesome!

The way the car drives is night and day compared to when I got it. Replaced 90 percent of the vac line in the bay and the whole box as well, so it's hard to pinpoint the difference.

    You da man!
So with the negative of taking longer to drop to single....does it still surge when you let off the gas?

I don't know. I don't think so, not sure what you mean by surge. Haven't had my coffee yet!

Basically when you drop the revs down to single range from twin, it feels like the VOD did. Will be sluggish and lacking power for a bit (2-5 seconds), then your hear the turbo come back on and woosh.

Yea, definitely a reverse VOD. Hope that makes more sense!

Ha it's like the like the power loss occurs on the way back down through the revs rather than on the way up. Doesn't happen very often

I cant believe how simple and effective this mode is to reducing the VOD to almost nothing.
I never really had enough time with it to notice much of a reverse VOD situation like you where mentioning. I popped the pill and was jetting all over the place with glee.....but then....

Hanging with with a nicely restored and tuned 944 turbo bad noises started to develop almost like a shot timing belt tension-er....but today after a 15 minute commute a near catastrophic sound devolved.
Big end con rod bearing went....FML!!!!

This has nothing to do with the vac line mods. Every one with a twin turbo should do these simple mods including this one
    http://import-era.com/threads/subaru-twin-turbos-how-to-increase-primary-boost.1191/ .

Devastated.... and selling as is because i don't have the money or time for a rebuild or transplant.
