For people that are out east of BC, and flying into Vancouver to pick up a new car. This can be a Suspenseful time, they know the car was in reasonable shape, however now they are going to drive it over the rockies and on to its home.

I now offer a service (As long as im not to Busy):
    FVS (Fresh Vehicle Service- Remote)
    - Pickup from the Dock/Container warehouse
    - Storage until you can get it (Up to 2 weeks) (Gated Storage)
    - Multi Point inspection is done on the car, going over everything from the Locks to AC to wipers. Any issues are noted and all that information is given to the owner. Then he/she can decide if any repairs should be done, and we can do them.

This will give the owner peace of mind when he/she comes to pick the car up.

For cars that are staying in province, i offer this:
    FVS (Fresh Vehicle Service)

    - Pickup from the Dock/Container warehouse
    - Storage until you can get it (Up to 2 weeks)
    - BC OOP inspection (Can get any extra Maintenance done as well)
    - My personal opinion/comments about the car

Then the owner can come pick the car up and just take it to the nearest ICBC location for registration.

(Note: the BC inspection service can depend on the car Please message me for more info)

*NEW* Option: FVS (Fresh Vehicle Service - Alberta)
    - Pickup from the Dock/Container warehouse
    - Storage
    - Multi Point inspection is done on the car, going over everything from the Locks to AC to wipers.
    - Alberta OOP prep *unless there is something major found in the inspection
    - Delivery to Edmonton, OOP completed there, and delivery to your house (driven by me personally)

I have done this for some people already, and they have be very happy.

PM me here with your email address and i will get back to you ASAP.

This isn't Free.. PM me for Prices.. :)

I had Ben do this for me. Great service to offer, and makes the Canada side of it headache free for me. He picked me up from the ferry terminal and took me to my car, at the shop that had my OOP done. I'd highly recommend it.

I don't know if it's necessary, but Mr. Hunter maybe you should clarify some kind of pricing. Unless you are doing this for free? LOL :D I realize your pricing will likely be on a case by case basis, but maybe a range or just a mention that there is a difference in pricing between the services you are offering? Again, unless it's free...

Just out of curiosity, how do you ensure that the dock will release the car to you if the actual owner isn't there? Just a signed document that states that you are receiving the car or something?

just the same way the dock releases cars to all the towing company's that move cars to the trains etc..

The broker that taking care of customs get the release confirmed and then i go pick it up..

Ben, how long does it normally take for the broker to clear the vehicle for pick up?

I have been using FVI pretty much since this service was official I think, and it's awesome. The trips used to be filled with apprehension. FVI's prices for mechanical work are incredible too. I wish that they were in Edmonton, lol, my cars would always be in tip top shape!
I'll be contacting big B once I hear when the Hiace is gonna be coming in.

I just had my Barchetta dropped at WHL on a Monday and was totally cleared for pickup the next Monday. It may have been available sooner, Friday, but that was fast enough for me. I agree FVI has been just awesome to deal with. The FVS inspection was extremely detailed with pictures and the solutions to problems, advice, and communication has been excellent. :D

Topgear, customs is usually cleared before the vehicle lands. Then the port takes 1-3 days form landing before releasing the vehicles.

If customers ask me about importing concerns, I usually direct them to speak with Ben. We are very lucky to have someone like him in the community.

    Derek thats not exactly true..

the Boat unloads. and the cars get checked by CBSA (Soil Exam) before customs gets cleared.
Customs cant be done until the soil exam's come back as passed.

so the boat lands, and then give it 24 hours to unloaded (normally its unloaded in less then 12)
Then 1 business day or so for the soil exams to be complete.

then customs can be done, then you have 48 hours to wait till you can pick up.
