Does anyone know if I can ship a car the month prior to its 15 year anniversary so it arrives in Canada the same month as it was produced.

For example if the manufacture date is March 20, 2003 can I have it shipped in February knowing that I will not be importing it offically until it lands weeks later?

I thought I read in the past that it can't leave japan until it's 15 years old but re-reading the Transport Canada site I only see reference to being 15 years old.

"vehicle is 15 years old or older, based on the month and year of its manufacture"

    Thanks

ya as long as it clear customs on the month of its birthday its good to go.

The exact day isnt an issue.

So if its a march you can have it land on March 01 and its its all good.

    +1 for yes
    I've done this twice.
My previous STi shipped in January and it was a February month of production.
My Elgrand was loaded in July and it was an August Month of production.
