E-coded headlight markings on 2002 Subaru Legacy GTB and B4 RSK

    I've heard that most if not all of the recent Legacies all have e-coded headlights... where are the markings supposed to be? I've pored over mine but I can't find it...

    sorry for the crappy photos.. lots of glare when I took them

    My impreza's have said DOT on the lens. It is at the very bottom of the housing. It says, "SUBARU DOT R" (or L depending on which side).
    May not help since it's not a legacy though, best I can do for you.
    I'll update a pic in a bit.

    Doesnt look like your headlights have them.

    Are you having issues at the inspection?

    Hi Ben, kind of. I haven't paid for inspection yet but I've spoken to two inspectors. Both look for either e-coded or DOT headlights

    I can't figure out how to copy a link from my old phone, I'll get that picture up tonight.

    Right above the bumper at the bottom of the headlight my impreza has hidden "DOT" letters. You can see in the top left of this photo. Again, not a Legacy, but something to look for...
