At first glance I thought your head unit said "gonna go fap".

On the proper topic, again, such a nice car. I noticed the speedo goes to 300. Have you taken it for a run on your private racetrack?

    Hahaha..

Thanks. No I haven't. My wastegate actuator has the typical rust that evo 4-6's are known for. They're angled downwards right under the hood vent, collects water and rusts. When I tested it any air that went in just came out at the rusty location (where the rod goes into the actuator). Soo.. the car has only been running 0.7bar since I've got the thing. Nice and slow. Stock they're supposed to be ~1bar. Found a used 8 actuator on evoM and have that on the way. Finally going to fix it, should be nice and fast. The 8 actuator has a shield on it so they don't rust. Can't wait to get it installed and see how these are actually supposed to move.

Oh man, thats a bummer. You've put up with that for so long! It'll need a good flogging to blow the cobwebs out.

    Braden,
Do you ever catch any flak for sporting the red mud flaps?
I have red Sparco flaps cut and mounted the same as the sti units that came with my car and it seems like people are drawn to them. "what's with the red mud flaps?" seems to be a frequent question...or "why red?".
    Just wondering ;)
Oh, I think they suit your car perfectly!

Surprisingly enough not really. Non car enthusiast people seem to love them. And the only people I have heard complain about red flaps were on newer sti's hah. They're old and faded, I'm going to have to order some new ones, just can't decide if I want to keep red or not. Probably will.

107,100 km.. time for an oil change (this is also a reminder to my future self, else I'll lose when I did my last oil change heh).

I am putting red flaps on my silver V. Seems you should have red if you have an Evo!

Wow B, your EVO looks just like the new ford focusti. haha.
Looking good, sorry to hear about the hit and run damage though, I sympathize. Plans to fix and take the sticker off ever? or what's the dealio there?

Yeah, front & rear bumper repaint will happen once I have the coin.

    ---------------------------------------------

Intalled evo 8 wastegate yesterday.. didn't make much of a difference. I was missing the restrictor pill in the compressor housing line. So I used a mig contact tip, cut it 5mm long and drilled it to size:

Just got back from testing it, car hits 1.0bar and then settles down to 0.9bar at reline. Much faster and much better. But now I've got a coolant leak from somewhere. Must have hit vtak too hard.

Creative plan. I have also used snowmobile jets in the past. They come in a variety of sizes and perfectly fit the vacuum lines.

Glad to hear she's taking full strides now. Hopefully the coolant leak is just a line and not a rad or reservoir tank.

I'm guessing she's a bit quicker now under full boost?

Butt dyno says it's much quicker.
It wasn't from the rad, it looked like it was dripping from under the tstat housing.

Hopefully just the t-stat gasket? Good excuse for new coolant and thermostat if you haven't already.

Tightened the t-stat housing. Got rid of that leak.

    Defrost 2014 came and went.

Removed the tint. Looks so much better, no more bubbly purple tint.

Calipers are to get a fresh coat of red next week, mud flaps will be taken care of as well. Going to be doing a full wax/clay as well. Going to be picking up some paint and am going to give a go at re-spraying my front lip myself.
