So my ladys 2007 Ford Focus is having shifting issues.
It likes to forget it has a 4th gear sometimes, or not down shift back to third if it is in forth, or get stuck in a phantom neutral between the 2.

Needless to say, its not optimal for driving.
She bought it brand new off the lot, and in the past 8 years put on 158 or so Kms.

I have flushed the tranny and changed the Sift Solenoid, reset the ECU, change the transmission filter.
    Its not throwing any codes.

    All signs point to Transmission.

HmmMMm more research needed into the shift drum being worn, that is way too low in the k's to have a tranny problem already.

Early 2000's Honda and Acura automatics mated to any V6 would love to say otherwise.

You'd be lucky to break 100,000 without a tranny replacement.

Back ontopic hope it's something smaller than a tranny :/

I think we had the same or similar 4spd auto in the 98 ZX2 and it was still humming along at 150,000km when I sold it pretty well (despite, honestly, being one of the worst auto's I've ever driven, slow to downshift, bad gear ratios, SO BAD, 5spd in that car was 0-60 in 7.5, auto was 9.2!! wouldn't even let the car run to redline!)

good luck with the repairs, I've done some work on auto trannies, its not so bad, especially if you can find a full writeup on the internet somewhere, but maybe a Reman is a better bet.

Pretty standard care repair pain, 95% of the problem is just figuring out what is wrong, then 5% you can fix it.
Car looked in pretty good shape last pics I saw of it, might just be a shift drum and clutches and you're good to go, Ford parts are usually at least pretty reasonable.
